They are also small enough that they are essentially unseen from all parts of the room unless you are right by the wall to which it is mounted.Again, great deal. I made an adapter plate that I fastened to the bracket and then fastened the plate to the back of the speaker using existing screw mounting holes. These brackets are very good and well designed -- a great bargain.I used them to mount Klipsch RS-52 speakers (which are 15 pounds each). No problem at all holding that weight. My only challenge was that the bracket screw spacing for fastening to the speaker could not work around the area containing the speaker wire connectors to fasten directly to the wooden back. Turns out this is probably stronger than screwing directly into the wood. The brackets are great for directing the sound towards the audience.
Just make sure to hit a stud or supply your own drywall inserts. They're also small and unobtrusive, mostly hidden behind the speakers, but if you catch a glance of them, they look pretty good. They're made from some sort of cast fibrous material which seems plenty strong; I find it hard to imagine any bookshelf speakers that would really cause problems. They're solid. These are pretty solid speaker mounts, given that you're willing to drill into your speakers: the brackets themselves are strong and fairly well-designed, and the supplied hardware is OK. My one caveat is that the inserts for plaster walls are ineffective, but that's common for these sorts of things.I've used these mounts to put up a fairly heavy (8-10 pound) set of bookshelf speakers, and they can clearly handle the weight without much of an issue. Maybe I just feel positive about them because I'm so happy to have my speakers up on my kitchen wall where I tend to spend all my time.
